On January 4, Dave Lingren was appointed Interim Executive Director of the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) by the Iowa Telecommunications and Technology Commission (ITTC).
As Interim Executive Director of the ICN, Lingren oversees management of a unique, state-owned, fiber optic network. Through the ICN, Iowans access distance learning and training opportunities, government services, telemedicine, and telejustice via high-speed Internet and interactive videoconferencing. In fiscal year 2008, ICN customers benefitted from over 200,000 hours of videoconferencing.
Lingren joined the ICN staff in April 2001 working with the Network Operations personnel. He attained the Service Delivery Administrator role for ICN's Service Delivery organization in July 2005.
Previously to working at ICN, Lingren spent 20 years with Qwest Communications where he had bottom line responsibility for the large business sector. Lingren's undergraduate work was completed at Wentworth Military Academy/Junior College and Iowa State University. He received his Certified Public Manager certification from Drake University in 2007.
